Breakfast

...and so begins the last day of Satori Camp 2001...

As the chronicler of our Satori experience over these past few days, I have to admit that it's kind of weird to write up what happened on this last day of camp when it's likely that you will be reading this long after your teen has already told you every conceivable fact about their own Satori experience. I'm sure that there's nothing much I could add to their own telling of their Satori stories. For some of you, you were regaled to incessant camp gossip and anecdotes on the entire drive home, while those of you with more reserved youth had to wait until they got on the phone with friends to overhear their gushing. Either way, I'm sure they had plenty to say.

Breakfast was a mostly sedate affair as campers realized this was their last day of camp for this year.

Morning Session

A busy last day in all the various classes: in Programming class, campers finished writing their little programs and then learned how to package them in order to operate on any machine. They then finished off the class with a raffle of Microsoft memorabilia. In the Acting class they did some more improv games and then talked about what they thought of the class. In Hypnosis class they finished their their relaxation exercises and discussed the phenomenon of regression. The Harold produced its last edition for 2001, the Photography class finished playing with noxious chemicals and the Chess class... ummm... played chess. (Who would'a thunk it?)

Midday Session

In the Physics class, campers discussed Special Relativity and the nature of black holes with their instructor. As interesting as that is, though, not much could top the spash the Dance class made today. Taking a page from the Acting class's past exploits, the Dance class undertook a daring and bold mission: to bring dance to as many places on campus as possible. Not only did they infiltrate a number of Satori classes, they were also seen dancing in the Pence Union Building (where the campus bookstore is as well as where we've been having our meals) and there have been rumours floating around that they may have even crashed a Dean's office, much to his surprise. Wackiness abounds at Satori Camp...
