Today was another good class. We began the class
by reviewing two techniques we learned yesterday, the front kick
and the punch and running a couple laps around the gym. Then we
learned a new technique, called ushiro geri, or back kick. We practiced
that with Sensei, then on our own. Then we did a form of sparring
called randori, first doing it against an imaginary opponent then
against another person. We did this for a while, cheering on our
fellow campers as they sparred, then after we finished randori,
we watched several people preform kata, or a preset series of techniques.
Sensei also preformed a kata and after he finished it he asked each
of us what technique we liked in the kata. To finish the class,
Sensei asked us to introduce yourself (Kinda weird considering it's
the middle of the week, but oh well.) and talk about things such
as your hobbies, where you live, what school you go to, and other
similar things.
