Rec Time

There are many interesting things to do around
here. Apart from classes, we spend an hour at the PHASE, or Rec
Center, each day. For instance, if you are feeling in a bad mood
and wish to hit things, you can play Racquetball, or Volleyball,
or even Wally ball. You can even go one step further and learn how
to fence (the sword-fighting, not the art of building fences!).
Yet another form of entertainment lies in the studios where Tyler
teaches Salsa and Swing dancing. There is a weight room available
as well, for those body builder types.
If, instead of any of those things, you are feeling
rather swimmy, there is a lovely pool at our disposal from 3:30
to 4:45. In this fantastic area, you can play water basketball,
talk with your friends, or swim laps. Another fun thing, and really
my favorite activity, is jumping, or diving, off the diving board.
The low board works well for little stunts and things, but if you
are feeling quite jumpy I recommend the (drum roll please) High
Dive. I find it fun to dive off, because going head first down nine
feet is a little thrilling.
Of course, if you feel like doing none of these
things, you can always sit in the hall. This is a good time to do
homework, read a book, talk to friends, or watch a Racquet/Volley/Wally
ball game. If none of these appeals to you, there is always the
option of just sitting...... but thats no fun! I suppose you could
even plead with the counselors for a special waiver to go to the
dorms, but that might take up the entire Rec Time (hehehe). So,
we really are staying out of trouble here, and everyone should come
back again!
