 Hear
ye! Hear ye! His majesty King Micheal the Great held a magnificent
feast last night, and it was the party of the century.
Campers’ costumes were amazing. Micheala
Alden wore a lovely pruple and black gown., and Robert Harder
was in plate armor. Samara Hanks had on a green dress and a
long, red wig. Erika Harder had a blue dress with blue camoflage
pleats, and a matching bucket hat.
To start the feast, Michael said there would
be sword fighting, but for some reason no sword play was performed.
After the king was seated, the crowd was allowed to sit, then
to line up for food.
The
meal was fantastic. The ham was quite tasty, and the soup was
delicious. The tarts were very sweet, and a perfect end to the
meal.
It was pointed out that the ham was charred
to a crispy black color, and the outer ‘skin’ had to be peeled
away. Not only was it burned on the outside, it also had legs.
After dinner, campers danced, starting with a simple line dance.
After that, they danced “the-hole-in-the-wall.”
First everyone found partners, then they
were lettered off, half A’s, and half B’s. They ‘reveranced’
to each other, which means couples bowed or curtsied. The A
couples circled around, and the B couples circled in the opposite
direction.
Following
the circling, an A guy reverenced to the B girl, and they did
what is called a ‘palming pass’. In a palming pass, you put
your hands up in front of your face, and wiggle your fingers
suggestively. Campers then grabbed hands, and circled back to
their original spots before starting the dance over.
After “The-hole-in-the-wall,” people danced
the Karabooshka, a Russian dance of passion. The steps were
complicated, and the music got faster as the couples danced.
People were so busy dancing around, they
didn’t have enough time to sit down for an interview.
