An argument of tragic proportions
erupted at lunch on Tuesday between long-time friends Mike Cantlon
and Chris Mathieson.
The fight, which began about 12:40 p.m.,
was reputedly over Satori North, - specifically, the type of
coffee which should be used in Satori North. Cantlon apparently
wanted to import American coffee specifically for the camp,
whereas Mathieson wished to use a Canadian brand of coffee,
Moose Lodge. The fight swiftly, and Cantlon said, “When you’re
as successful and make as much money as I do then you can make
the decisions!”
According to counselor Tammy Hovren the fight
abruptly finished when Cantlon took a swing at Mathieson, apparently
taking the advice of counselor Tyler Burnett, who shouted “Use
your fists, use your fists!” Immediately following the attempted
blow Mathieson slammed out of the Pence Union Building, where
the fight took place.
Public opinion regarding the fight is mixed,
as a large number of campers seem to view it as manufactured
for their amusement. One of these is Katie Miller, who said,
“It was a bunch of laughs.” Others are more concerned, or more
serious.
Erika Harder said, “Chris has never looked
that angry before. I hope he doesn’t do anything rash.” Andrew
Bodenstein said, “I’ve never seen anything like it at Satori,”
apparently concurring with Natasha ‘Hide’ Tomich, who said,
“I’ve never known Mike to yell at Chris before! They’re such
close friends! I was totally shocked!”
When asked about the fight, Cantlon said
only, “Chris has no appreciation for fine coffee.”
An ongoing investigation is looking into
the fight, and any connection it might have with Mike Cantlon’s
murder last night.
Cantlon’s tragic demise took place around
5:40 p.m., during supper. According to forensic specialist Miss
Terry, he was poisoned by a rare maple leaf from Bora Bora.
The use of the maple leaf (the symbol on the Canadian flag)
as the poison, following the argument, has made Mathieson the
prime suspect. Mathieson declined to comment.
