Some
might say that last night’s big event was Skit Night, but many
will agree that Michaela Alden’s concert topped it.
She has been writing songs for three years,
and performed four last night. The first was “This Face,” followed
by “Messed Up,” “Ordinary Quarter,” and an untitled song. All
of Alden’s songs got positive reactions from the crowd gathered
in the second-floor lounge in Louise Anderson Hall.
Harold: Have you ever
been paid for a show?
Alden: No, I usually play
for free or for tips.
H: How do you think
you did tonight?
A: I could’ve been more
prepared, but over all I think I pulled it off pretty well.
H: How many songs have
you written?
A: I guess I have about
twelve songs that I perform and a few more that I’m still working
on.
H: What is your favorite
song that you’ve written, and why?
A: Probably “This Face,”
because I think a lot of people can relate to the message.
H: When did you write
“This Face”?
A: I think about two months
ago.
