Skit Night Features Fewer Deaths

Erik Von Essen
Harold Staff Reporter

The Harold recently sat down with drummer Charlie Smith, who frequently plays backup for singer Michaela Alden, for a chat about his music and comic relief.

The Harold: So Charlie, how long have you been playing the drums?
Charlie Smith: Well, I’ve been playing the set for one year, and just drums in general for four years.
TH: How long have you been playing with Michaela Alden?
CS: Since about July of 2003.
TH: How would you describe your style?
CS: Well, I’m influenced by Led Zepplin, Iron Maiden, and Black Sabbath. You know, that whole bunch, where you know Michaela is more pop influenced.
TH: Why did you yell at Ben Shwynn to “Shut up and don’t ask questions, you stupid Pinko!”?
CS: Well, Ben said something, I can’t remember, I mostly said that for comic relief.
TH: Uhh, I gotta kill some time here… uh, what’s your favorite movie?
CS: It’s uh… School of… yeah, School of Rock.
TH: Okay, what’s your favorite food?
CS: I know this is weird for a skinny guy, but cheesecake.
