It all started with five dollars for soda.
On Tuesday night, second year camper Charlie
Smith galloped through Louise Anderson’s hallways wearing womens’
make-up. The make-up included lipstick, eye shadow, and even
some Tommy Girl perfume.
Disguised with the name of “Charlotte Smith,”
he seemed to be having loads of fun walking around and talking
with people. Another camper, Doug Coulson was wearing make-up
along with Charlie.
Information spread around Louise Anderson Hall quickly. Charlie
said he was doing it “Because it’s fun and I’m getting paid!”
It seems that he was being paid with publicity
and five dollars for pop, by two campers, Nina Neff and Andie
Chapin.
A few campers wondered why Charlie and Doug
were wearing make-up. The make-up gala began to take effect
last year. “Well, I felt rejected and people had make-up,” Charlie
said.
Not a lot of campers know exactly what happened
last year. Most got a good laugh at seeing the two of them all
dolled up, but there were some complaints from girls on the
second floor about the perfume stench. The smell even warranted
comments from Robyn about hallway courtesy at Tuesday night’s
meeting.
